National Cycling Academy Pilot Scheme
Terms and conditions

1/ All training will be coached on the same day , (provisionally booked for either January 27th 2008 or 3rd February 2008) dependant on weather conditions. If adverse weather, such as snow, sets in, the training day may have to be changed for safety and child comfort reasons, to the following week. All participants will be fully informed of the final date in advance and will be informed of any changes via telephone and/or e-mail

2/ If you are unable to attend on those dates, it may be possible to book again at a higher cost of ten pounds per person, (subsidised rate) with a minimum of six to a group. This is dependant upon availability of coaching staff and venue access

3/ All training will be conducted at the Manchester Velodrome, the National Cycling Stadium, either on the car park facilities or on quieter side roads outside the Velodrome.

There are toilet facilities and a café within the velodrome; vending machines are in the main reception area. Car parking is free and access for the disabled is good

However, if the volume of riders wishing to train in one area is high, there maybe an opportunity to offer additional courses provided a suitable venue is can be found and all relevant requirements are completed

4/ All signed consent forms must be handed in before any training commences. Parents/guardians can stay and watch the training or collect the children after the session has finished

5/ Payment is in advance via cheque through the post or debit/credit card over the telephone. Bookings to attend must be made and confirmed in advance due to the high demand for places. Costs are seven pounds per person for one and a half hours (or ten pounds per person as previously mentioned)

6/ Suitable clothing needs to be worn as cold weather is to be expected, waterproofs, gloves etc. A change of clothes maybe required in the event of rain. Cycle helmets must be worn during all training, we can provide helmets if requested in advance. The NCA cannot be not held responsible for any damage to riders clothing/personal items/kit whilst attending training sessions, this is the riders responsibility

7/ Cycles must be in a road worthy condition with two operational brakes, no brakes means no training as part of the course involves emergency braking. We are not insured to take children onto the roads without fully working brakes/cycles and will not do so for safety reasons. Our Instructors will conduct cyle safety checks before the beginning of the course. Minor fixes can be undertaken by our CYTECH Technicians on the understanding that we are not responsible for further faults with the cycle, major repairs however, cannot be remedied because of the time element. In this case, Technicians will hand out repair slips for parents to take into your local cycle shop, NCA are not responsible for any repair costs. If a child is unable to take part because of a faulty cycle the NCA are not obliged to refund the cost of the training

8/ Police officers have been invited to attend the event; however, we cannot be responsible for their non attendance due to other commitments
