Perfect for:
Riders from the age of twelve upwards![]()

Aims
Through tuition and demonstration, young people will be introduced to a ramp environment, covering basic BMX techniques and park etiquette, therefore allowing the safe and continued use of council run skate park facilities
Objectives
Primarily to give young people the chance of learning safe use of a skate park in a controlled supervised environment. To make young people aware of other ramp users and their potential lines through the park, these include skaters, inliners and other BMXers. To demonstrate an appropriate bike set up and basic maintenance for each individual. To promote BMX as a healthy, expressive activity where through correctly implemented facilities and direction young people can exercise their energies in a socially creative manner.
Finally, to allow young people a metaphorical starting block for their own personal development
Although this course demonstrates basic skate park riding technique it is not designed in any way to teach ‘tricks’ but will be fundamental in their pursuit in a skate park
Our approach
Our approach in delivering training to young people is flexible; we aim to meet the need of both our individual clients, the group as a whole and the needs of the organising body. We would like to see Councils working towards implementing and delivering Safer BMX training across their boroughs, a cause to which we are committed as an organisation
All of our training is based on giving the young people real experiences which they take away from the course, hopefully for the rest of their lives. This involves skate park training, thorough assessment and being taught by regular BMXers who can demonstrate techniques and answer questions from their own experience
